We are so excited to tell you that we had our song Thousand Different Faces premiered in PASTE MAGAZINE!
“If you’re not familiar with Phoenix based Indie New Wave Rockers Sleepwar, may I make the introductions with this Paste Online premiere of their debut single, “Thousand Different Faces.” ‘Writing good music’ is their soul foundation and mantra, and so this track is quite simply straightforward empathic writing. From the titillating synth sounds playing masterfully against an indie dance beat, the relatable lyrics breathing familiarity within electronic pop measures, this first single off of their freshman EP When We Were is a masterpiece of an oft too often overlooked subgenre, but there aren’t really any fillers, either. And while the recent disparity and conflict seen between conventional rock and pop and electronic music seems to make these genres seem at odds, they’re ultimately inseparable.
Due out January 26th, each track of When We Were feels like a simultaneous divulgence and affirmation of one’s soul; no skeletons, no secrets, no shadows. Ultimately, that is what relateable song-writing should be all about: sounds and stories stirring the disparate emotions and thoughts, casting light across the dark, and clearing a refreshing, melodic path to coalesced self-discovery.
